About

MOCAT is a continuation of the highly successful annual Ibn Al-Haitham Scientific Conference which is currently the main ophthalmic platform for sharing information in this vital medical branch in Iraq. Proudly joined by Iraqi Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ISCRS) in the last year, the conference had proved itself as an exciting educational, scientific and social activity.

This year we decided to take it to the next level where MOCAT (Mesopotamia Ophthalmology Conference for Advanced Techniques) was born to bring all ophthalmologists under one roof. The aim is to hold together a conglomeration of workshops, symposia and presentations to share advanced knowledge in cataract and refractive specialities in addition to general ophthalmic knowledge in other specialities.

This conference will be hosted jointly by Ibn Al-Haitham Teaching Eye Hospital and Iraqi Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. We will be delighted to invite all ophthalmologists to attend the conference on 2nd and 3rd of March 2023 to enjoy the various activities. Hoping to see you there soon!

Why Attend?

During the past conferences, the quality of the speakers and the inviting atmosphere were striking to attendees. People learned a lot during these events and the request was always for more of these events. Despite the hurdles encountered, the high quality of the presentations and the interaction of the audience gave us inspiration to continue organizing this event and taking it to the next level. You will see the dedicated ophthalmologists interacting and presenting their tips and tricks, sharing expertise in this important field. You will be able to discuss and learn in a friendly environment.

Ibn Al-Haitham Conference

Over the past 35 years, Ibn Al-Haitham Teaching Eye Hospital has continued to provide specialized services in the field of ophtalmology, making it the main center especially in the last 12 years during which many sub specialities of ophthalmology has been introduced including Medical and Surgical Retina, Paediatric ophthalmology, Corneal diseases and Oculoplasty. Along the previous years the annual scientific conferences of Ibn Al-Haitham Teaching Eye Hospital have become the the main platform for sharing ideas, spreading knowledge in the field as well as being a social gathering. We hope the 5th conference will be even better in all aspects .
